Description
BARBARY LION (Panthera leo leo) The Barbary or Atlas lion is the largest subspecies of lion. A male can be over 3 meters in length and weigh more that 250kgs. The lioness gives birth to between 1 and 6 cubs after a gestation period of 110 days. It was these lions that the Roman Emperors used as opponents for the gladiators or to feed the Christians to! In the wild Barbary lions preyed on Barbary deer and wild boar.

How close did you have to get...and isn't that a face you feel sometimes? Wow - excellent capture!
